Malaysian government, through its Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage has set up PUSPAL (Central Agency For The Application For Filming and Performance by Foreign Artists) as a 'One Stop Centre' to speed up the processing and approval of Filming Permits and Professional Passes for foreign film and media companies. This works by using licensed film production company i.e Film Hosting Sdn Bhd as a 'Local Sponsor' or 'Production Host' to fast-track the approval. The permit approval letter can be obtained within 8 working days (Peninsular Malaysia) or 12 working days (East Malaysia) after the submission of documents to PUSPAL not later than every Monday.

Documents required:

4 x passport size photo for each applicant ( jpeg file will be the best)

Copy of passport (Main page & 3 blank pages)

Synopsis and copy of script ( Feature Film)

Storyboard/Synopsis (TV Commercial/Music Video)

Synopsis/Treatment/Itinerary (Documentary/Interview/Corporate Video)

Letter of appointment ( to appoint Film Hosting , as Local Sponsor / Host )

Company brief background using company letterhead

Equipment list to be brought in (if any)

Flight itinerary (Arrival / Departure )

Shooting locations

Prior to scheduled shoot dates, foreign film and media companies are required to hire at least 1(one) Production Coordinator or Representative from the 'Production Host' company for local communication and production assistance.
